AJwD in the News
A new continental network, Africa Journalists with Disabilities (AJwD), has been launched to promote inclusion, equity, and representation of journalists with disabilities across Africa’s media landscape.
The initiative, unveiled on May 1 in Lagos, aims to address the marginalisation of journalists with disabilities by creating opportunities for participation, professional growth, and visibility in newsrooms across the continent.
Speaking at the launch, AJwD Africa Lead, Yinka Olaito, said the movement seeks to redefine storytelling in Africa by ensuring journalists with disabilities are recognised as key contributors to the media industry.
